Built by people who think the next decade of Indian school AI is too important to do casually.
Deshika is founded by Bishwarup Das and advised by a small group of Indian educators, AI researchers, and DPDP counsel. We are sold only through schools. We do not market to parents. We do not promise board-result guarantees. Every value below is operationally enforced, not aspirational.
Founder
Bishwarup Das
Founder · CEO
Bishwarup spent six months living in Silchar, Assam — running on-the-ground AI literacy work in CBSE schools — before writing a single line of product code. He came back with two convictions that became Deshika's spine: every Class 8 student is already using free ChatGPT and the teacher knows it, and the DPDP Act gives schools the legal foothold to do something about it.
He lives in Bangalore, writes monthly on the post-BYJU's Indian ed-tech landscape, and reviews every customer-school's first AI policy himself.
Advisors
We're building the advisory board in the open.
Three voices we want around the table before we cross 25 partner schools: someone who has led a Sahodaya cluster or sat on a CBSE board (to keep us honest about what principals will actually do), someone who has shipped Indic NLP at production scale (to keep us honest about what the model actually does), and a DPDP-counsel boutique (to keep us honest about what the law requires, not what marketing wishes it required).
If that's you, write to bishwarup@deshika.xyz. We're not handing out advisory equity until we've worked together on a real problem first.
Values
Each value below is operationally enforced. We've structured the company so the value can't be violated without breaking something.
Trust before product.
We teach the whole school how AI works before any AI goes near a student. The product follows the trust. Order is enforced by the engagement structure, not by good intentions.
Humble with a spine.
Strong on what we know — DPDP, Indic safety, policy authorship. Plain about what we don't — long-term efficacy at scale. We refuse to manufacture certainty.
Sold only through schools.
Not parent-billed. Not direct-to-student. The school's legal Data Fiduciary structure under DPDP is our operating frame, not a workaround. Direct-to-parent revenue would require Deshika to become the Fiduciary; we refuse that posture.
No "guarantee" language, ever.
India's CCPA Coaching Guidelines (2024) ban "guarantee X%" advertising in education, with ₹1.39 Cr in penalties levied across 31 institutes since 13 Nov 2024. We'd refuse to make those claims regardless of regulation. They're how the post-BYJU's market got burned.
Open-source the moat we built.
Our policy library opens after 25 schools (Q3 2026). Our Indic safety classifier opens in 2027. The brand we want isn't lock-in; it's authorship.
Careers
We don't have open roles right now. When we do, they'll be listed here. If you're working on Indic NLP safety, child-AI architecture, or B2B sales to Indian schools, write to bishwarup@deshika.xyz — we keep notes.
